Oh my goodness, what a wet squirrel. Stoney might need a brush and blow dry after the rain stops. The Grackle seems to be handling the rain much better.
The Grackles really needs a much prettier name to match that gorgeous plumage. And yes, both of them do look very, very wet. I hope it dries up for them (and you) soon.
HI The Crackle has really beautiful colours in its plumage and with you heavy rain it looks like it is " Water off a 'Crackle's ' back"!! That Squirrel certainly looks bedraggled! Have a wonderful weekend.
LOL, the squirrel looks pretty ragged from being in the rain. I love the grackle, the colors are pretty. Thank you for linking up with my critter party. Have a happy weekend!
terrific pics... they don't seem to mind the weather at all. the rain seems to be less invasive on the grackle than the squirrel though... Stoney Braveheart seems to be drowned... hope all is well. have a great day~
Awesome captures as always, Karen!! That Grackle could use a better name, but couldn't be more beautiful!! And of course, those wet squirrels were my first smiles for the day!! Thanks for sharing the beauty and the fun!! Have a great weekend, hope you get some good weather soon!
Oh my goodness, that must have been a very heavy downpour. One thing I was very impressed was that you have caught those gorgeous shades in the grackle. Fantastic!
Karen, This time of year, rain is better than snow! Earlier this week the weatherman announced Canada and Alaska had warmer temps than the South Dakota Black Hills. We are north of the Black Hills and 5-10* cooler, on average.
Wonderful color capture on the grackle. Stoney Braveheart doesn't look too bothered by the rain.
A very wet squirrel and lovely bird!! You don't usually see wet squirrels. Guess I'm not out when they are and they have to eat - rain, snow, sleet or hail!! Well - bet they're not out in hail!
I find the image of the grackle with the raindrops glistening nothing short of exceptional, Karen, This is surely one of our most under-appreciated birds.

ReplyDeleteLook at that soggy tail!
ReplyDeleteSorry about all the rain, but it made for an amazing shot of that grackle. Look how waterproofed he is! Gorgeous colors, too.
ReplyDeleteThe grackle never looked so beautiful. And poor Stoney looks a bit bedraggled in the rain. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteIt would seem that the grackle is having a better time of it than the squirrel! He looks a bit damp!
ReplyDeleteReally like the sculptures in the other post - although I think postage and handling my prevent me from getting some!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
