That's Not A Sparrow (Or Is It)

Looking out the window the other day, I spotted this bird.
A new one for me.
It's a Wood Thrush.*
Wood Thrushes are forest-interior birds and are unlikely to come to feeders.

Although it summers in this area,
it should have been on it's way down south.

I hope this was a quick stop over,
and this little guy is on his way to Central America!

*Edit: Tex thinks it's a Fox Sparrow, she knows her birds, so maybe I have misidentified it. If so, it's a still a new one for me, and it won't freeze to death as a Thrush is likely to in this climate.

It's Snowing

Winter (snow) has arrived early again this year.
The backyard critters are looking for food.

 Male Northern Cardinal

 Black Squirrel (Pawsy)

Mourning Dove

The muscle spasticity and pain that have wreaked havoc with my body over the past few weeks, has been tamed to a level of tolerance, which is allowing me to return to some of my normal activities...one of them being, taking pics of my backyard visitors.

I am hoping to post here at least once a week, and resume visiting and commenting, on all my friends blogs. It feels good to be back!

Pause

I won't be blogging for a while,
because I am ill,  (it's the MS, as my doctor says).
Thanks to everyone that has stopped by,
and taken the time to look, and leave a comment on my posts.

Until next time...cheers

Such Cute Critters

A newcomer, not a baby, but very young and small. (Putty)

Red-breasted Nuthatch

Merfy watching squirrels in the yard.
He's such a good boy, watching, not chasing!
