Warm Weather

It's exceptionally warm in my part of Canada.

It was 70 degrees on Saturday, so we hiked along the river...

...and watched the sunset on Lake Huron.

Peachy Beachy Keen

I get hubbers to take me to the lake as often as possible. I love to sit on the beach and watch the sun set. I have always enjoyed being at the beach, even more so now, because....

I am recovering from heart and aortic bypass surgery. It's a long arduous process. It's also painful. I have a 14 inch incision from my mid sternum to my pubic bone (I had 59 staples). I also have a gangrenous baby toe, (that will be amputated in the near future), and severe nerve damage to both feet,(that will never go away), as a result of the blood supply being cut off from my hips down, when my aorta was totally blocked.

Being at the lake, soothes my soul, and banishes my anxiety. I truly believe the atmosphere and energy helps my body heal. And...wow, isn't that a gorgeous sight!

Healing

Last weekend was my first trip out of the house since my surgery on August 7th. We drove to the lake of course! It was a lovely sunny cool day.
Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada
The water level is high and there is not much beach.

Merfy and I enjoyed the scenery, and the sun on our faces. (FYI...direct, bright sunlight on your face when being photographed, is better than photoshop!I look like I did when I was 30! Not bad for a 64 year old fart!)

A lovely sunset to end a very enjoyable day.

...it saved my life.

I am recovering.

Down By The River

With above average temperatures again,
not much is going on in my world.
A short walk along the river was managable.

Hot & Humid Days In July

It's been so hot here for the last week,
 (35-42C which is 93-106F),
that I haven't gone out of the house!

I took a couple of pics through the window.

Leftovers Again

I haven't been travelling very far from home. A trip to the grocery store, and a meander down the aisles of my favourite art supply store, (resulting in major acquisitions). So, I am sharing some photos of what's been going on in my yard the past week.

Leftovers -Around The Yard

Some leftover shots from around the yard.

My favourite "wildflower".
Most people think of dandelions as weeds,
but I think of them as flower food for bees.

Duck Shoot

A Mallard duck photo shoot at the lake.
I love ducks, they always look so happy

Male and female juvenile ducks look a lot like adult females.

Beak colour is the most reliable way to sex juvenile mallards. Males have greenish-yellow bills, while females sport orange bills with black splotches.
