1. I love sailing. and also enjoy watching boats sail across open water.
2. Canoeing and kayaking both come in at a close second.
3. I got stuck inside my kayak last summer. My MS was flaring, and I went numb from the waist down. Hubbers had to pull me from the boat.
4. Kayaking is now off my list...or maybe I'll use a sit on top kayak.
5. I am not a fan of motor boats, jet boats, or sea-doos. They are noisy, and pollute the water.

ReplyDeleteI looked at the shot and the title and the song immediately popped into my head. 5 Random Facts? 1. I don't drink carbonated drinks anymore. 2. I make a fabulous spaghetti carbonara. 3. Soy gives me hives. 4. My house is so neat (now that it's on the market) that it looks as if no one is living here. 5. It's driving me crazy not being able to nest in my new house and make my mark on it (except for the changes I've made in the garden).
ReplyDeleteI can see after canoeing and kayaking and how peaceful it must be, that all other modes on the water can be a bit much. I too am sorry for number 3. Do hope you can find a way of enjoying it again.

ReplyDeleteFor living in the Great Lakes state, I really don't have much experience with boats. I did go canoeing this summer, which was an experience. We were not the greatest at canoeing but we had a fun time anyway!

ReplyDelete#3 sounds scary. My dad and stepmom like to kayak, but when my dad hurt his ankle a couple of years ago, he can't do it as much. Too difficult getting in and out of the boat.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree with #5. I see a lot of people using sit atop kayaks. Hope that works for you. This is the third season that I have had a goal to learn to kayak. Maybe I'll make it this time.
