Good Fences-19

"Simplicity is beauty."

simple beauty reigns
when days are void of visions
splendour to recall

A simple fence, as a backdrop to a simple weed in my yard. Nothing very remarkable about either one, to most people. But to me, it's quite beautiful. An image I will treasure, and tuck away in my memory, for future reference.

I am experiencing some vision loss due to "optic neuritis", a fairly common occurrence with multiple sclerosis. It's getting increasingly more difficult for me to see things on the computer screen, but I pop by to visit blogs when I am feeling optimistic. Until next time...cheers!

Edit; I just discovered that this weed is "bittersweet nightshade", which produces a red berry that is poisonous to humans and animals. So, I just hubby pull it all from the yard.

The Merf

My little dog Merfy, 8 pounds of pure cuteness!
He makes even my hardest days, easier to get through.

I'm sorry that I haven't been visiting or commenting on many blogs lately. MS (Multiple Sclerosis) has reared it's ugly head, and I am unwell. Not to worry, this too shall pass. Until next time...cheers!

Summer Colours

Monarch butterfly

on my "pink delight" butterfly bush (Buddleia).

It's a little battered, but still beautiful.

A grey squirrel (Patches), who I believe is Stoney Braveheart's mate.

Sunset And A Selfie

Surrounded by nature's beauty at the cottage. Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada

I like the way reflections trick the eye. The trees reflected in the glass deck fencing in front, are hard to distinguish from the real trees behind me...or would that be the other way around!

Bubble Magic

Beep was blowing bubbles in the yard.
I captured this beauty just before it burst.

No editing or post processing, it's SOOC, the real thing!
So much in the reflection, sky, clouds, trees, and more.

I'm only posting once or twice a week for the summer. Beep (my granddaughter) is spending her summer vacation days with me, we are very busy, and by the end of the day, old gramma is toast. I try to visit blogs on the weekend, or in the evening, if I'm not sleeping ;)

Go Organic

Had lunch with my daughter this weekend at our local organic café.
Quaint and quiet, displaying and selling local artist's work,
and serving scrumptious food, (ginger pear tart slice, upper right).

A Busy Summer

Beep, (my granddaughter) and I, are spending her school vacation days together, (July and August, weekdays, from 9:30 until 3:30), while mom and dad are at work.

There is no TV allowed at gramma's house during the day, no movies, dvd's or videos. Electronic use is limited to an occasional hour or two on her iPad that we gave her as a "passing present". She is going into grade 5 in September!

We have quite the agenda! Arts and crafts, including designing and constructing our faerie houses, sewing lessons, learning photography basics, and cursive writing (which they no longer teach in the schools here). We have to spend a little time on math and spelling tutoring as well.

(That's a Canada Day wash off "tattoo" on her cheek)

And then there is physical fitness. Did you know that the average child in North America spends less that 3 hours a week engaging in any physical activity, and merely an hour a week outdoors! So, part of every day is outdoor time, skipping, hoola hooping, hopscotching, gardening, feeding the squirrels, (centre photo), and nature walks.

Ergo, gramma has a lot less time for photography, being on the internet, and a lot less energy as well! I won't be posting as often over the next two months, and I may not be able to visit and comment on as many blogs as usual. Not to worry, Pixel Posts will be back to "normal" in September.

On that note, I will leave you with this...
