Ontario is at the forefront of wind energy in Canada, with more than 1,500 MW of wind generation capacity connected to the province's power grid.

Many people living near the turbines in rural areas, are concerned about the possible health effects (from noise and vibrations), that the turbines could cause to humans and livestock.

Health Canada is launching a new two-year study on the potential health risks of living next to industrial wind turbines.
