Still Snowing

Everyone is really tired of the snow and cold, but as we all know,
"No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn." Hal Borland

I'm beginning to wonder!
Freezing rain and more snow expected today!

 Blue Jay

Grackle (has arrived a bit too early!)

  3. Ah, your squirrel looks like mine!! And it does look SO cold!! Wish I could send you some of our weather today -- it's still chilly, but blue skies without a cloud! I'm sure my critters will be out in force and soon! Hope you have a good weekend, anyway, Karen!! Stay warm!

  16. Stunning shots - as always. I feel for the birds and animals though. Food must be harder to find, and needed. I am so glad you feed them.

  19. Lovely shots...that little squirrel leaping in the snow is just too cute..great capture!

  20. The jay looks positively disgusted with this continuing winter, a sentiment that I share. The animals seasonal body clocks know that Spring Equinox has passed. So how about some (reasonably) warm weather and a total snow melt. That would work for all the animals, and myself as well!

  21. I would box up some sunshine and send it to you guys if I could. You could trade me a bouquet of spring flowers when you get them. (I guess we'll have to do it virtually -- and that won't warm you up at all will it.)

  22. Such pretty feathered and fluffy characters. Love how the snow lingers like magic round the bird in the first photo. And the little squirrel looks quite at home rummaging in his snowy world.

  29. As I recall when I was younger living in Montreal, the winters were long, snow melting by end of March, sometimes a surprise snow fall in mid-April, then rain to bring May flowers. Wish it would end the snow for you folks east of us. Love the bird shots!

  47. I love how shadows on snow look blue! Our snow is finally gone, and I spied a robin, but he was gone too quickly for me to snap a shot. I hope your snow melts soon, poor bluejay looked a little forlorn.

  57. Hi Karen,

I think that Grackle is also a little shocked at the snowy spring! I'm in Toronto for my first spring in 15 years, and it is c-o-l-d!

    Amazing pics!
