Gerbera

sharing with...

where you share 5 random facts about you, your day,
your pets, your kids, whatever

1. It was our 31st anniversary this week. Hubbers brought home a beautiful gerbera bouquet. They are a lovely pale pink colour with chocolate brown centres, but they didn't photograph well, so I did a little cross processing. I like the way it turned out.

2. He also got me that iPod I wanted! It's pretty cool! I have been spending time loading my CD's on it, and perusing the iTunes store. What a fun little gadget!

3. I have another dentist appointment tomorrow. That iPod is going to come in handy, I'll just stick those buds in my ears, crank up the volume, and be blissfully unaware of the shrieking drill.

4. All my seeds have arrived from the online seed stores! I grow organic heritage veggies every year. I think I bought way too many tomato varieties, 10 in total. I guess I will be making a lot of tomato sauce after harvest!

5. It snowed yesterday, again. At this rate I may have to get Hubbers to build me a greenhouse if those seeds are going to ever get planted!

Love the gerbera - and your random five. A kazillion spring bulbs have started arriving here. I may need to dig up the lawn and consider planting the roof.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful Gerbera, great processing, those colours " Zing", to quote a quilting tutor of some years back, when I didn't want to use gold or yellow, she replied that sometimes it is necessary for the Zing effect to brighten up my rather ordinary shades. Happy Anniversary Greetings to you both. Hugs and all very best congrats, Jean.

Happy, happy anniversary...belated, but heartfelt.

The bouquet is gorgeous we used to have them come up wild in our front yard in the desert landscape in Tucson.

Drilling...ewwwww!!!

I canned tomatoes last year from my tomatoe plants and used the next to the last jar yesterday for spaghetti sauce. Can never have too many tomatoes! :)

Happy Anniversary, Karen! Daisies are one of my favorite flowers too.

Enjoy your iPod and good luck at the Dentist.

I have gardening thoughts in my head, but know mid-late May is the time to plant a garden in my area. I like the thoughts of pretty blooms and lively green plants.

Beautiful flower and lovely color!! I'm sure you'll have a great garden -- if you're ever able to plant it with all the snow you've had!! Hard ground to be sure!! Enjoy your weekend!! Give Beep a hug!!

I love Gerbera daisies! I'm really interested in your organic, heirloom seeds! I love gardening in our little plots, but I have never done well starting from seeds. I should learn.

Happy Anniversary!! I love that gorgeous bloom!! I found out that iPods can be adapted to regular earphones and not just the buds. I can't put anything in my ears. So.... I may be doing some hinting! My husband is getting his seeds started inside, and we'll plant again in May.

Hey, happy anniversary! Aren't we the lucky girls to get beautiful flowers this week? Mom said yesterday as I asked her to close the doors and windows at 6pm, "Isn't the weather awful out east?" I thought of you and all my East coast friends. Yup, a greenhouse is definitely in order. :) Hope this weekend is a warmer one for you.

Happy "Belated" Anniversary wishes. 31 years is a pretty good record in this day & age.
Such a pretty Daisy, I love Gerbera daisies. They had some at one of the stores this past week but when I went back again to buy some they were all gone. I'll wait till it gets warmer and I find more to plant them outside.
I don't have time for a garden except for my flowers which I barely have time for but we do plant tomatoes & peppers.
Sorry about your snow. It's nice here but still pretty cool at night. Happy Spring.

You cross-processed this gerbera into my absolutely favorite color! What a nice Anniversary you had.

Good luck at the dentist -- it would take more than earbuds for me, but I am a wimp.

This Gerbera Daisy is such a pretty color.

I'm not sure spring is going to arrive here, either. :-( So cold right now.

Happy anniversary Karen!! Those gerbers are one of my favorites, they come in so many beautiful colors!!

I started my seeds inside, but I don't grow much and everything I grow I keep in pots on my deck!!

Congratulations on your anniversary! The rest of your post is interesting in that it combines the promise of growth with inhospitably (to flowers) cold weather.

What a beautiful shade of gerbera! You did a fine job of photographing it, too. Happy anniversary! Sounds like you have a thoughtful hubby.

I always think these flowers look like they are made up! Way to bright to be real - but they are!

I was struck by the similarity between Az and Central Oz as well - but Oz seems just a bit more rounded and old.

Gerberas are lovely. Love the editing of your photo.
Oh my gosh I do not like going to the dentist. Hope your visit goes well.
We had six inches of snow last weekend and there is some in the forecast. It has to be the longest winter ever!!! :)
Have a great weekend Karen!
