2. The mini is the perfect size for me. Smaller than the regular iPad, but with exactly the same functions, it fits into my purse perfectly!
3. Of course the first app I bought was 'Waterlogue', which will convert your photos to a watercolour like painting. I love it!
4. I think the app really appeals to me because I used to paint, which I can't do anymore, due to some disabilities from Multiple Sclerosis. My vision fluctuates from day to day, and I have intention tremors.
5. I picked up the camera when I had to put down the paint brushes. Photography became my new medium. 'Waterlogue' is obviously not painting, but converting some of my photos with it is fun, and makes me happy!

I have always wanted to be able to paint - and now I will thanks to your mention of Waterlogue. Your photo is gorgeous to begin with, and the painterly effect is another lovely version. This would be so pretty printed on fabric and used to make a pillow!ReplyDelete
I got my wife a iPad for Christmas. At the time she was computer illiterate... not anymore.ReplyDelete
It looks so lovely, Karen!ReplyDelete
What a perfect birthday present, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, early, just in case I miss visiting you..
I use Photoscape to play around with painting from time to time too. It's fun!
Well done for adapting, rather than complaining. My last two clients have had ALS. It's a tough go.ReplyDelete
Lovely time, playing with photos, isn't it?!

Happy Birthday Karen! What a great birthday present. I have been seeing the waterlouge app on several blogs. I've been trying to learn watercolor but it's a struggle.ReplyDelete
I am sorry about your condition. That stinks - but you may not have created these amazing WOW photos otherwise....you seem to have found the perfect "when one door closes, another opens" philosophy! Yay!ReplyDelete
Your Waterlogue is gorgeous and I love it! Share with pink saturday at Beverly's How Sweet The Sound.
And keep up the good work.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET LADY!!!!
Happy birthday!! I got the mini for Christmas year before last and LOVE it. I've never regretted getting the smaller size. Like you said, it fits easily in a purse and it's easy to hold in bed if you want to read or watch videos. I just wish I hadn't cracked mine by dropping it on the driveway. :(ReplyDelete
Happy Birthday, Karen!ReplyDelete
Congratulations on your new iPad. You will love it, for sure.
This is so pretty. I really like the colors.

That's great Karen, I think that I would like one, but, can a man handle it with one arm?ReplyDelete
I have the mini too and I love it. Gorgeous waterloque it's the best..ReplyDelete
Happy "It's Not Your Birthday" day! - What a great gift. I love the Waterlogue effect people have been using. I need to get a different phone I think just so I can use that app! Loved your flowers and the painted version.ReplyDelete

Happy not-your-birthday! I love the app and am considering getting the app for my iPad. ;)ReplyDelete
it's great to see the comparisons, before and after Karen. The result is fabulous. How nice of your hubby to buy that special present; sounds perfect.ReplyDelete
I love the flower and the edited version too. I have not figured out how to load photos from my ipad mini to my blog. The new watercolor app is cool. Have a happy weekend!ReplyDelete
Oh how pretty your 'painting' is...I appreciate your showing it both before and after the App (which I am coveting). -- Happy not-your-birthday.ReplyDelete
A great happy birthday pressie with an appy that makes you happy!ReplyDelete
It makes you happy-that is all that matters.ReplyDelete
I may need a new laptop as this one-even after emptying it of half its memory runs hard and has lots of pauses while doing things-plus my video card is old which makes it harder to run some of my editing programs.
I;m happy when I get a good pic let alone doing anything fancy with it! Glad you enjoy your app!...:)JPReplyDelete
oh waterlogue is so fun ... the painting just magically appears! Love the effect you got with it! beautiful!ReplyDelete
It turned out to be a beautiful painting. I, too, have tremors from time to time, I have good days with the paint brush and the other days I pick up the camera.ReplyDelete
Nice present to make your early birthday happyReplyDelete
Happy Early Birthday! I love the waterlogue editing I've seen.ReplyDelete

Very nice! Looks like a very fun app - I will have to research and see if they have it for regular computers :) It's important to find those little things that make us happy - have a blessed week, Karen!ReplyDelete
Love what that app can do. Sure looks like a painting to me.ReplyDelete
