The Downy is always such a quiet visitor to my feeders but they always seem to have a sad look. I need to stop thinking that way I guess. As always Karen, beautiful shot!
They are also there in Canada? It seems like they have a wide range. How did you manage to take such a beautiful and crisp picture? These birds are never sitting quietly in the tree, all the moving around -- so hard to photograph.
You asked me if my dogs ever caught squirrels. No, never :-). They get out shouting and thus alerting all the squirrels. And, I make sure that they never catch any -- I love my squirrel friends.
