Sweet Stoney Braveheart always insists on two peanuts at a time!
(He has the most magnificent tail I have ever seen on a squirrel)
Male House Finch, a common bird, but one of my favourites.
Nigella damascene (Love-in-a-Mist)
Last week I featured the same flower in pink. I was thrilled to have some blue, and some white ones bloom from the same seed packet.
Merfy, I just love this sweet little face and that cute nose!

Really neat that you got all three colors of that beautiful flower from one seed packet. The house finch was the most frequent feeder visitor when we had our Oregon house; I always loved seeing them.
ReplyDeleteHugs to sweet Merfy!
Every one is the most stunning, a story by themselves, but together, a volume. Merfy, the sweetest of all. Cheers, Jean.
ReplyDeleteWell, first of all I adore little Merfy. Definitely very special!!! A great series of photos for all these memes and thanks so much for including Today's Flowers Karen. Enjoy your weekend :)

ReplyDeleteI'm always blown away by nature's beauty ... which you have photographed so well.
ReplyDeleteWith that bushy tail on the squirrel, you may be in for a cold winter. (Old farmer myth!) The red collar on the finch makes him seem regal. And, of course, I love seeing cute little Merfy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures as always, Karen!! Just fed my squirrel family some peanuts, but they'll be back for more in an hour or less! And I always love to see the pics of Merfy!! Helps to fill the empty spot left by the loss of my Sam Schnauzer! Thanks for sharing! Love that sweet face! Hope your weekend is off to a good start! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteReally great pics of Stoney. And Merfy is adorable. Enjoy the weekend Karen.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful squirrel! And greedy too. :-) That flower is just gorgeous! And Merfy is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful flower, I'm looking forward to seeing them in spring. The squirrel's tail is really full, and Merfy is adorable. From the pin feathers on the finch's face, I can see he is moulting before winter like my chickens.
ReplyDeleteLove them all, Karen! Grey squirrels always seem to have more luxurious tails than the black squirrels but Stoney's is especially nice indeed!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, the squirrel looks like a winner.
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel made me laugh. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Karen! Your Merfy is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteThose are the CUTEST photos I think I've ever seen of a squirrel. Now that's what I call a perfect capture. There's a whole story in just one shot. Well done!
ReplyDeleteStoney does, indeed, have a tail to be proud of! The Love-in-a-Mist bloom is gorgeous. Little Merfy is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteAw, Merfy! :)

Great squirrel captures, but Murphy steals the show!!

ReplyDeleteThese are great! I love that double-dipping squirrel.
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful critter shots!
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is some tail - he must be on a healthy diet.
ReplyDeleteI loved the House Finch of course - spot on portrait Karen, even down to the new tail feathers emerging.
But Merfy stole the show as you knew he would.
Lovely Love-in-the-mist Karen and that squirrel really has style. Wish our house finches or common house sparrows were as pretty and colourful as yours.
ReplyDeleteI swear...that Merfy has stole my heart!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that blue flower is stunning. I would love to have some like that in MY yard.
Your finch is a great photo, and that squirrel certainly made me giggle.
Thanks for sharing your link today at I'd Rather B Birdin'!!
