Grab Bag -4

sharing with...lots of memes. Scroll down to the photo that matches the meme ;)

Sweet Stoney Braveheart always insists on two peanuts at a time!
(He has the most magnificent tail I have ever seen on a squirrel)

Male House Finch, a common bird, but one of my favourites.

Nigella damascene (Love-in-a-Mist)
Last week I featured the same flower in pink.  I was thrilled to have some blue, and some white ones bloom from the same seed packet.

Merfy, I just love this sweet little face and that cute nose!

  1. Really neat that you got all three colors of that beautiful flower from one seed packet. The house finch was the most frequent feeder visitor when we had our Oregon house; I always loved seeing them.

    Hugs to sweet Merfy!

  2. Every one is the most stunning, a story by themselves, but together, a volume. Merfy, the sweetest of all. Cheers, Jean.

  24. With that bushy tail on the squirrel, you may be in for a cold winter. (Old farmer myth!) The red collar on the finch makes him seem regal. And, of course, I love seeing cute little Merfy!

  25. Beautiful captures as always, Karen!! Just fed my squirrel family some peanuts, but they'll be back for more in an hour or less! And I always love to see the pics of Merfy!! Helps to fill the empty spot left by the loss of my Sam Schnauzer! Thanks for sharing! Love that sweet face! Hope your weekend is off to a good start! Enjoy!

  28. Such a beautiful flower, I'm looking forward to seeing them in spring. The squirrel's tail is really full, and Merfy is adorable. From the pin feathers on the finch's face, I can see he is moulting before winter like my chickens.

  29. Love them all, Karen! Grey squirrels always seem to have more luxurious tails than the black squirrels but Stoney's is especially nice indeed!

  40. That certainly is some tail - he must be on a healthy diet.
I loved the House Finch of course - spot on portrait Karen, even down to the new tail feathers emerging.

But Merfy stole the show as you knew he would.
