View from the Fire Tower - SkyWatch Friday/Scenic Sunday

Dorset, Ontario, Canada

The sky, a perfect empty canvas, offers clouds nonetheless.
They shift and drift and beg interpretation... such is the nature of art.

Beautiful photo Karen. My 4 year old daughter loves to look for patterns and shapes in the clouds and has made me see them in a whole new light.

What a beautiful view! Dorset is a place I have heard about for years, I read once that this fire tower was the one in Forest Rangers and since then have always wanted to visit.

This brings back memories: In the late 70's I worked for a summer as a lookout in The Malheur National Forest in Oregon. The forest there was coniferous, but I could see for miles from the towers (I worked relief, so I rotated among the towers in the district). It was one of the highlights of my life.

Hi there - I know it’s a sky shot, but my first thought was "do you have enough trees!"

Splendid shot.

Feel free to use the phrase about the moon - I don’t hold copyright!

ouch, that´s a lot of forest to get lost in. :) But I don´t think I would mind that much. At least if I had a tent with me.
