Click on the pic to enlarge...take a look at the bugs!
My neighbour's vine trails over the fence. It has beautiful blossoms. I noticed today that the usual abundant blooms are sparse, and many have turned brown, although it has just started flowering. Going in for a closer look, I found out why...it's infested with aphids, visible upon closer inspection. Ewwwwwwwwww....

Great shot! Disgusting bugs, but great capture.
ReplyDeleteLady bugs will gobble those up. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty plant, I hope it holds out against the bugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Karen but oh no! Aphids on such a beautiful plant.
ReplyDeleteOh my this insect are really a pest. This happened to my roses and peach tree but not with this kind of insect but ants. ^_^ This flower is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWonderfull colors and sharpness.... nice macro picture karen.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day,
Greetings, Joop
Great details of the petals and too bad about the aphids. Hopefully the plant can be sprayed to control these pests.
ReplyDeleteWonderfull, wonderfull colors!
ReplyDeleteWish you a nice week:)
What a gorgeous bloom to be ruined by little critters! Get the spray!
ReplyDeletegreat macro shot! this is a delightful flower...you can probably spray it with water diluted with salt.
ReplyDeleteI find that spraying the aphids with a solution of soapy water (dish washing liquid) works well for getting rid of aphids. It is a beautiful honeysuckle and they have such a glorious perfume.
ReplyDeleteNice shot, Karen. Aphids are a true pest, unless you're a ladybug!
ReplyDeleteOh yuck. I'm not sure I really want a closer look! ;)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's better to be shortsighted, lol ! Macro shows every detail.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for nuking aphids, but if you're more eco-minded, lady bugs love munching on them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful red for Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteLovely capture!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead!
I agree with Woody, so suggest either salt water or lady bugs as a remedy to your neighbour. What is the name of that flower? Very exotic.

A beautiful flower both in colour and shape! Aphids have a life too, but they should of course have chosen another plant;)
ReplyDeleteGreat macro shot.
ReplyDeleteI know this one but don´t remember the name. Great macro photo. :)
ReplyDeletewouah !! really nice !
ReplyDeleteaphids are no fun. I hope they are not infesting your side of the fence. Sometimes a spray of dish soap and water helps to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteAphids can besuch destructive monsters! But the blooms in this photo still manage to look lovely for now!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous macro, too bad about the aphids though.
