Flowers in Winter - Macro and Mellow Yellow Monday

Winter in my part of Canada lasts a long time. We are buried in snow, and this part of the world seems devoid of vivid colour. I so enjoy looking at the flower photos from other parts of the world, as I peruse various photo blogs. I said to my husband last week, I can't wait until winter is over so I can photograph some flowers! Being the sweet man that he is, he brought home a bouquet of my favorite flowers to cheer me up, and give me an opportunity to take some pics.

Alstroemeria, aka Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas

  8. I have to say these are much more attractive varieties of lily than the ones we usually see in our landscaped environment in these parts.
