Yep, it's Stoney Braveheart,
He visits the yard at least 5 times a day,
and always takes two peanuts at a time.
Glory, as in astounding beauty.
Centaurea cyanus, or cornflower, bachelor's button.
Beep, my granddaughter, grew these from seed in my garden.
In herbalism, a decoction of cornflower is effective in treating eye ailments.
Many thanks go out to all my blog buddies that have stopped by, left kind comments, and encouraging words, during my recent health dilemma. Your support means a lot to me!

Love the squirrel...and the bachelor photo is gorgeous, such brilliant color
ReplyDeleteEven the 'guts' is glorious.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope the optic neuritis is easing off. Hugs.
Super flower, and gutsy, well he is hungry. I do hope your recent flare-up is settling down, and lots of TLC ( Via cyberspace) and love from down under.. Hugs,XXX Jean.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics Karen, little squirrel making sure he doesn't miss out. The cornflower is very pretty, I just love that shade of blue.
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel photo made me laugh! He's being a tad piggy. :))
ReplyDeleteKaren, love the squirrel with the mouthful. and the flower is lovely. Your granddaughter must be very happy that these pretty flowers have bloomed from her seeds.. I hope you are feeling better. Take care! Thank you for linking up to my critter party.. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, Karen!
ReplyDeleteContinue on healing, relaxing, and take good care of yourself!
Brilliant shot of the squirrel......and doesn't he look healthy!
ReplyDeleteCornflowers are always lovely, especially on the edge of cornfields.
Happy weekend!
Ruby
Oh Karen he is quite the little "Greedy Guts" we used to call them:) Take care of yourself. Great shots. Hug B
ReplyDeleteLOL love him! :)
ReplyDeletethat squirrel image literally made me lose it...too funny.
ReplyDeletei love your squirrel buds - even the hogs! :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful cornflower, too. stay 'braveheart', karen!
My, that's a glutton. Two nuts in his mouth. Think of the equivalent of us humans trying to do the same thing with objects of equivalent relative size. Amazing. But efficient.
ReplyDeleteLove the flower. Your grandchild must be so pleased.
gorgeous flower and old stony braveheart is adorable and so fluffy and healthy and the photo is so real i tried to pet his tail. hope you feel better soon
ReplyDeleteOh, they're such little piggies!! That cornflower is gorgeous -- Beep did a great job as a gardener.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're remaining healthy after the ON, and that you'll be sharing your beautiful pix with us again.
I love it when they hide things and don't remember where they put them!!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteAh, we both have those squirrel hogs, Karen!! Mine here carry off two peanuts at a time, too, although much of the time they just climb on the porch railing and eat away!! And Beep does have such gorgeous flowers! I do love the color! I'm sure she's so proud of them and she should be!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so hoping that you have a better week ahead! I am holding good thoughts for you every day!
It is fun to see squirrel in action.
ReplyDeleteCute shot of the piggy squirrel- they are adorable, but such pesky fellas. I hope you are feeling better. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! Take care, Karen!
ReplyDeleteI too almost thought of the squirrel as a "greedy glutton," but it is only doing what needs to be done in order to survive. Just think of how many it could carry if it had cheek pouches!
ReplyDeleteThe 2 peanuts stuffed in his mouth sure makes a cute photo! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked squirrel pics. Great catch of the little Stoney Braveheart. Hope the vision is improving.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of both the squirrel and Cornflower. The squirrel picture made me smile!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon!:)
a worthwhile trip
ReplyDeleteGlutton is a well chosen word ... I have a lot of gluttony at my feeders, both squirrels and chipmonks with their cheeks stuffed full of goodies. This was a great catch on your part, I must say. The cornflowers grow as weeds on the sides of the roads in our area. They add a touch of beauty to what would otherwise be a boring landscape.

Nice shot of the squirrel. You caught him with his mouth full! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one greedy little squirrel, but oh so cute! That bachelor's button is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteStocking up....cute
ReplyDeleteI love both shots!
ReplyDeleteLook at those cheeks!!!
ReplyDeleteI. LOVE. Stoney.
Beautiful and animated critters. Fun to watch too.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
A winning combination, critters and flowers. Both photos a complete joy. Thanks Karen! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThinkin' bout you.... hope you're on the way UP!
ReplyDeleteI think Stoney's feat of two peanuts at a time is pretty glorious too (as well as gutsy). But the flower is beautiful and Beep has her grandma's green thumb obviously.
What a little stinker!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing Stoney. Squirrels are such characters. The cornflower is my favorite shade of blue - so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI hope that your vision problems are clearing up.
Great shot of Mr. Glutton! Beautiful flower!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel is so cute! :) And the flower beautiful - one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flower and great shot of the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteStoney won't starve! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed watching the two or three squirrels that lived in our trees. I was a little less pleased when one 'dropped in for a visit' down our chimney one year. Blue bachelor buttons are the Best! Cool shots.
ReplyDeleteFabulous squirrel capture Karen - thanks for sharing and trusting you are now enjoying better health.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the squirrel. I'm moving to a new home where there are lots of squirrels and I can't wait. The blue flower is beautiful xo Jenny
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blue colour! Happy Blue Monday from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool shot, squirrels are so cute looking.
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait of Mr. Squirrel!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
I like your blue bloom and your squirrel
ReplyDeleteYou must enjoy feeding him. I grow nuts and never see any of them because the squirrels get them all. But at least then they are too busy to bother my apple trees. The swirly petals of the cornflower are so pretty, love the color.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThat squirrel is so cute with his mouth stuffed with TWO nuts! I love the blue bloom--how pretty. Thanks for sharing.
Have a Happy Blue Monday!
