Nesting Geese

Canada Geese nesting on the Ausable River
Ontario, Canada

This guy is in defense mode because...

...we got too close to the nest.

He seemed more relaxed as we went on our way.

  9. Hello Karen girl : )
They are so interesting to watch aren't they ? .. I think there is a pair nesting right in the middle of a store complex of the big box stores actually .. hope they will be safe and left alone.
    You got some terrific shots!

  12. I've noticed that the geese are no longer in flocks but in pairs. Today I spotted one lying in the grass so I guess we will soon be treated to the sight of little goslings.

  23. Oh wow is that how they act when they are in the defense mood? I could only imagine how a mama geese do when her nest is vandalized ^_^ I love the first photo there is a yellow reflection on the water or is it a dead tree? Thanks for joining Water World Wednesday I do appreciate it much!

  24. I've had the 'privilege' of being bitten by those geese....and trust me, they HURT. I learned my lesson. When they get all hunched up....beware!!! And move out.

    Excellent images.
