A Painting For Mom

A couple of weeks ago, I posted that Beep and I were exploring the work of Gustav Klimt, Austrian symbolist painter, (Tree Of Life) and Vasily Kandinsky, Russian abstract painter and art theorist, (Concentric Circles). Circa 1900.

Great works of art like the aforementioned, are not meant to be copied, but are drawn upon for inspiration, and interpretation.

This is the result of Beep's study of those paintings. Her interpretation is fresh and fun!

  4. Beeps interpretation is wonderful...I hope your daughter doesn't read your blog and ruin her Christmas surprise ))). More seriously, I hope you are able to enjoy the colors, which are perfect! I had a cousin who copied great works of art (or thought she did anyway) and I always had trouble pretending to be impressed. She obviously missed the lesson you have taught Beep so well!

  11. Your picture does have the feeling of a Klimt or a Kandinsky. I think I have told you before how I love these two artists and have one print hanging in my dining room by Klimt. Your artwork is beautiful and your use of color is perfect. genie
