What a coincidence...I collect them, too. I have gobs of them and cannot decide how to use them. Cut some in half thinking I would make a cork Christmas wreath, but I did not like the way it was going. Do you have some suggestion of something unusual we might create? The photo turned out so well. The lighting is perfect. genie
I'm with you on drinking the wine. Well, I do live in California with plenty of wineries close by. I never have gotten into the habit of collecting the corks, though.
Well, I don't collect corks, but I do enjoy my wine and what a great way to wind down the day! Who knows maybe I'll start paying more attention to the corks now and star collection them as well!!! Hope you had a great weekend, Karen!!
Just read Stewart's comment - too funny. I like them too. Something about the texture of them for me. I like how you put them together - great idea for a macro and well done!
I love your picture! Just today, I asked for some wonderful corks because I thought they might be a good photo object. Telling from your picture, I was right! Plus, you've got perfect light. Great shots!
well here's the thing. I have drawers of corks, plastic bags of corks, boxes of corks. I began collecting them with a purpose - I saw cork curtains in the windows of a local Italian restaurant and decided I was going to do that in my kitchen. I simply need to drill the holes, string them, and get them on the windows. Once friends learned of my intent, they started giving me corks. Lots and lots of corks. If I ever get the project completed I'll take a photo for you! happy week to you Karen.
My friend's husband collects them and makes them into things, but I can't remember what he makes.... I think they are wreaths for the holidays.. Michelle
Please feel free to leave a comment, and hey, why not follow my blog too. I can't respond to every comment, but I will return the favour and visit your blog. I have turned off word verification, but it randomly shows up, that's a BLOGGER glitch.
folks do lots of crafty things with them. maybe you'll find your muse one of these days. :)
ReplyDeleteWine corks are pretty neat. I don't collect them, but always keep a few around-just in case!
