Driftwood - Black and White Weekend

A piece of driftwood from Lake Huron
Ontario, Canada
It now sits in my garden
There are rocks embedded in the whole piece, but only one can be seen here

You can see more Monochromes from around the world HERE

That is very nice. I like close studies of ordinary objects.

Marvellous shot in B&W.

I often wonder how far a piece of wood like this has travelled, and where it originated. It's an excellent image, very striking in b&w.

Nice shot! I saw the rock, and I thought it was probably the root end of a fallen tree...
Is it large, or does it just appear so in the picture?

I am such a fan of driftwood Karen !
My husband brought me many pieces from his fishing trips and they all grace my garden .. some with life of their own ..lichen, moss, mushrooms .. it is wonderful to see what happens during the garden year : )

Hi Dimple, Yes it's a fairly large piece, about 4 feet.

Hi Canadian Garden Joy, My hubby is a fisherman too, but all he brings me back is laundry ;)

Lots of lines and textures here amongst the contrast and shadows. Nice piece to have in your yard.
